The patient is coming home!
The vet says Sophie can come home today! She said the wound wasn't really abscessed, just swollen, and that we'll need to apply warm compresses to it, though I don't know for how long. In the meantime, here's a pic of post-surgery Sophie with the drain. I happened to catch her during mid-lick--isn't that adorable?

Sorry to hear all that Sophie has been through! Sounds like she's getting all the TLC she needs and is healing nicely.
My, how I miss having kitties. Give them an extra snuggle for me, please. :-)
