Kitty pics!

This is Jiggs. I call him our rescue kitty, because when we got him, he'd been in the shelter for 10 days, was very sick, and we took him straight to the animal hospital where he stayed for 16 days. He only weighed 5 1/2 pounds, even when we brought him home, and you could feel every bone in his spine and pelvic girdle. He's a sweet cat, and a friend figured out that he's British, which helped me to see that not only British, but he's royalty!

This is Sophie, who's been introduced before. She's the only girl kitty and is spoiled rotten! But she's my baby, and gets very jealous of Jiggs when he tries to lay on my lap. You can actually watch her squint her eyes at him, like she's planning to attack, which she usually does.

Isn't she gorgeous?!

Photo Friday...

This is another shot of an angel statue in a cemetery in Lewisburg (I believe the other image was posted in September 2005). I love going to this cemetery, which may sound weird to some, but in my family, going to the cemetery was a day for family bonding. As a result, I've carried that love of cemeteries with me, and I often take lots of pictures, especially in the older graveyards--and no, I have yet to see or photograph a ghost. I have, however, met some creepy beings that are still alive...

I may ditch out of work early today. I left three hours early yesterday because I had nothing to do and went home and cleaned house. For me, that's exciting. I love to clean house and feel like I'm accomplishing something, probably because it happens so rarely! :) Hubby put up some bookcases in the cat room and I've been organizing all my books in there. I have a LOT more cookbooks than I imagined!

It really has been pretty slow at work lately, so if you need a building designed or renovated, a subdivision developed, or a few miles of roadway laid out, let me know. Okay, not too many people are going to need that, but we also do some smaller jobs, like landscape design for homes and businesses and surveying.

I'm so glad the weather has been so perfect for a few days; it makes it all the more tempting to ditch out at 3:00. I think I just talked myself into it. :)

Money woes...

Every time we start getting ahead and get a little breathing room, something happens. Usually it's something we have no control over, such as needing a new washing machine, new air conditioner, the furnace breaking down, etc. This time, it's all my fault; I've just been spending too much money lately. Then on Saturday, I impulse-bought a Kirby vacuum cleaner. They came and did a demonstration, and I was SO impressed, I just had to have it. I don't mean in that "It's a status symbol, it's so cute, I just have to have it" way, but in the "Holy cow, my house is even dirtier than I thought!" way. It does clean VERY well, and you wouldn't believe how well it pulled the cat hair out of the area rug. Plus, I did some mega-bargaining and got it for HALF PRICE! That's right, $800 for the vacuum and rug shampooer. Last night I was a cathair-sucking fool. I'm ready to take off work early today to go home and clean.

Photo Friday...

So what do you think of this pic? I took it in a wine shop in Lewisburg, then digitally altered it. I think it's pretty interesting, if I do say so myself.

I went this morning to a plastic surgeon to see about getting my nose done, both for cosmetic and medical purposes. Basically, I have a hard time get enough air through my nose, so if I'm going to have that done, I thought I'd get it reshaped at the same time. I've always wanted to but been too much of a chicken. It's going to cost more than I have available. If you'd like to contribute to the beautifying of America, let me know... :)
